Josephian Technotia’24 A Great Success
View(s):“Technotia ’24”, the Science Day, was successfully organised by the students of the Science Union of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo10.
It was heartening to note that the Young Josephian inventors had selected the following most appropriate theme for their Science Day, “ Technology Exploration and Scientific Innovations”.
In his message Rev.Fr.Ranjith Andradi, the Rector and Principal of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo10, stated that, “Pioneering contribution was made by the Catholic Church in developing and promoting Science and Scientific Research, by establishing universities and producing pioneer Scientist to the world”.
In the competition titled “ Creativity and innovativeness”, organised by the Science Union of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo10, St.Joseph’s College, Negombo and Royal College, Colombo 7, secured the first and second place respectively.
Rev.Fr.Ranjith Andradi, the Rector and Principal of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo10, thanked Mr. Michael Fernandopulle, Principal Adviser to the Executive Committee at Chartered Institute, for gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest and Dr. Nocoloy Gurusinghe, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sri Lanka Technology Campus, Padukka, as the Guest of Honour on that day.
He also thanked Rev.Fr.Samesh Anthony, the Priest-in-Charge, for guiding the Students and Teachers to perform well.
He extended his thanks to Mrs.Sriya Perera, the Deputy Principal of the Advanced Level Section, Mr.Dilantha Senarath, Mrs.Nimesha Herath and Mr. Shehan Hapuarachchi, the Teachers-in-Charge of the Science Union, the teachers of the Advanced Level Science Stream, Master Dunith Galabadage, the President and the members of the Science Union, Parents, Donors and Well-wishers, for their valuable contributions, to make the event a reality.
