World renowned violinist Midori in CMSC benefit recital
View(s):World-famous violinist Midori accompanied by pianist Özgür Aydin will appear in a benefit recital for the Chamber Music Society of Colombo (CMSC) on December 1, at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, offering local music enthusiasts a remarkable opportunity to experience the artistry of one of the world’s most celebrated musicians.
A child prodigy, Midori has captivated audiences worldwide with her extraordinary talent and passion for music. Since her debut at the age of 11 with the New York Philharmonic, she continues to inspire through her performances, educational initiatives, and philanthropic efforts.
This recital represents Midori’s heartfelt gift to the CMSC Education Fund, which aims to nurture and develop young musical talent in Sri Lanka providing scholarships, masterclasses and performance opportunities for aspiring musicians.
Accompanying Midori will be pianist Özgür Aydin, whose dynamic playing and insightful interpretations have earned him critical acclaim.
“We are incredibly honoured to host Midori, a true luminary of classical music,” said Lakshman Joseph de Saram for the Chamber Music Society of Colombo. “Her dedication to education and outreach aligns perfectly with our mission to foster musical interest in our community.”
