CA Sri Lanka’s SAB Campus welcomes future generation of accounting and business leaders with new intakes for Applied Accounting and Business Analytics degrees
View(s):The SAB Campus of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently extended a warm welcome to the new students who registered for the 18 C intake of the Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting and the 2 C intake of the Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics at the CA Auditorium in Colombo 7.
This event, which was held on 10th November 2024, marks the beginning of a new journey for aspiring accounting and business analytics professionals. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Tishan Subasinghe, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka; Ms. Anoji De Silva, Council Member; Ms. Lakmali Priyanka, CEO of CA Sri Lanka; and Mr. Usara Sirimanne, Manager, Assurance, EY Sri Lanka.
Addressing the event, Mr. Subasinghe inspired students and parents with insights on how the degree programmes, which are among the most sought-after accounting and analytical degrees in the country, transcend traditional boundaries, building skills that go beyond numbers and data. “In today’s competitive corporate landscape, degrees such as the BSc. in Applied Accounting and B. Mgt. in Business Analytics open doors to career paths that require not just technical expertise but also strong professional qualifications and essential soft skills. The journey to success involves not only academic achievement but also continuous personal growth, allowing you to climb the corporate ladder with confidence locally and even internationally,” he said.
During the ceremonial intake, the SAB Campus also awarded scholarships to students who obtained 3A passes at the GCE Advanced Level exams in an effort to nurture talent and support future leaders who will contribute to the country’s financial and business landscape.
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting, offered as a three-year as well as a four-year programme, is designed for students aiming to excel in accounting, finance, and business management. The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications, offering students a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and business operations. Graduates from the programme are well-equipped to pursue careers as chartered accountants, management accountants, tax consultants, financial analysts, and roles within banking and other financial services.
The SAB Campus, which enjoys a highly reputed history spanning more than a decade, is known for offering students a unique experience that goes beyond traditional theoretical knowledge. Apart from the degree programme offered by SAB Campus being recognised by the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education, students are also exposed to practical experience during their study programme with a built-in internship programme, providing undergraduates with real-world experience.
Another benefit for students pursuing the Applied Accounting Degree at the SAB Campus is the eligibility to pursue with exemptions professional qualifications from recognised professional bodies such as CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, and CIMA.
Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics is designed for students who wish to bridge the gap between business management and data science. The programme provides training in advanced analytics tools such as Excel, R, Python, and Tableau, empowering students to solve complex business challenges. Graduates can pursue careers as business analysts, data analysts, business intelligence analysts, and in roles across diverse sectors where data-driven decision-making is essential.
A key feature of the degree is its industry-relevant curriculum, hands-on learning with case studies, internships, and practical projects that provide real-world problem-solving experience, along with a blend of business management and analytics skills, all while preparing graduates for roles in both local and international markets.
Applications are open until the end of November for both BSc. in Applied Accounting and the B. Mgt. in Business Analytics programmes. Students who are interested in registering for the degrees, can call 710235263 or 112101044 or visit www.casrilanka.com for more information.
