Postgraduate scholarships for studies in China
View(s):The Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is inviting applications from eligible Lankans for 30 postgraduate (Master’s and PhD) scholarships offered by the People’s Republic of China for the academic year 2025/26.
All applicants should be citizens of Sri Lanka. They should be in good health and ready to live in China during the period of study. Government sector employees should submit their applications through the head of their institute.
Master’s applicants should be below 35 years of age as of 06.12.2024. They should possess a 4-year (minimum duration) Bachelor’s Degree with a First or Second Class Upper division in the relevant field of study from a UGC-recognised university.
PhD applicants should be below 40 years of age as of 06.12.2024. They should possess a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree with a First or
Second Class Upper division in the relevant field of study with a Master’s degree from a UGC-recognised university.
Designated Chinese universities offer scholarship recipients academic programmes in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy and fine arts. Those interested can visit www.campuschina.org for further information about designated Chinese universities and majors they offer. Online applications are available at: https://foreignscholarships.mohe.gov.lk
Applicants should apply for the relevant Master’s or PhD programme through the above online portal. Applicants should submit only one application via the online portal and are not required to send downloaded applications by post.
The deadline for the submission of applications is December 6.
