Bridgeteen celebration of creativity and talent
View(s):This December, the auditorium of St. Bridget’s Convent will transform into a world of drama and emotion as the school presents Riptide 2024 on December 2 and 3. The much-anticipated event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of theatre and performance art.
The theme of Riptide 2024 is inspired by the ever-changing nature of the tide –a metaphor for the ebb and flow of human emotions. The theme will weave through every aspect of the production, creating an immersive experience for the audience.
Three very different plays will be staged.
Audiences will be transported to Sherwood Forest, where loyalty, bravery and camaraderie take centrestage in the timeless tale of Robin Hood, the heroic outlaw whose fight for justice lead to daring adventures.
The Comedy of Errors is one of Shakespeare’s best known comedies brimming with mistaken identities and endless laughs. St. Bridget’s won the annual Inter-School Shakespeare Drama Competition 2024 with this production and the talented cast are eager to recreate the hilarious tale.
On a more serious note, Booby Trap – a gripping tale of war and loss, explores the haunting tragedy of a man caught in an anti-personnel mine (APM). With its poignant depiction of sorrow and resilience, this play offers a stark reminder of the pain and perseverance that define the human spirit in times of conflict.
In addition to the three plays, Riptide 2024 will showcase an array of musical theatre items, dance performances, and monologues. From soulful melodies to electrifying choreography and powerful solo acts, every performance promises to leave a lasting impression.
It’s a Bridgeteen celebration of creativity and talent.
