Driven by her passion for helping animals since she was a child, Anusha David feeds street dogs, re-homes them, even providing medical attention when needed. A PR professional, Chairperson of Headlines PR and Director of Interbrand Sri Lanka, her trust, Rescue Animals Sri Lanka will be holding a major fundraiser for the season.
On Sunday, December 1, Rescue Animals Sri Lanka will hold the ‘Santapaws Christmas Bazaar’ at the Atrium Lobby of the Cinnamon Grand Hotel from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. to raise funds for their cause.
Around 50 stalls with clothing, accessories, jewellery, footwear, homemade wines and pickles, Christmas décor, table and bed linen, sarees, arts and crafts, stationery and more, will be manned by charities Anusha personally works with. Three complimentary stalls have been offered to the Indira Cancer Trust, Alzheimer’s Foundation and Sisters in Law, a charity that helps abused women and girls for them to sell their goods.
Set up in 2019/20, initially the Rescue Animals Trust was almost 99% self-funded except for road accident victims where she had to raise funds to pay for veterinary bills.
Anusha invites wellwishers to support her project: toys and children’s gifts – clothes in good condition, packaged foodstuffs, etc, could be handed over to her or members of the RAS team by calling 0777366737, 0779082341 or 0777585998.
