Bandarawela schools shine at All-Island Archery Championship
View(s):The annual All-Island Inter-School Archery Championship, organised by the Colombo Archery School (CAS), was held last weekend at the Colombo Archery Centre. A total of 120 young archers representing 23 schools from across the island.
In the tournament,
St. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela emerged champions in the boys’ category, winning five gold medals, while Bandarawela Kuda Kusum Balika Maha Vidyalaya claimed the title in the girls’ category with three gold medals. Among schools that were featured in the competition included Ananda College and Nalanda College in Colombo, as well as several international schools.
The competition featured 14 categories, which were divided by age groups and shooting distances. The age groups included Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-17, Under-19, and Novices, with shooting distances of 10, 18, 30, 60, and 70 metres. Boys and girls competed both individually and in teams across these categories.
