Sri Lanka gears up for Asian Elite 2024
Sri Lanka will make a participation record in the international stage this year and at their next appearance a record-breaking squad of 13 members will represent the country at the ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from November 28. The Sri Lankans had a huge delegation at the ASBC Asian Junior and Schoolboys and Schoolgirls Boxing Championships and the country selected a strong 13-member team to the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.
Their recent Layton Cup supported the decision makers to select the national team for Chiang Mai and their active President Dr. Anuruddha Shanaka Bandara has long term strategies to develop all areas of boxing in Sri Lanka. The 13 boxers began the last phase of the preparations at the Army Cantonment in Panagoda.
