The Netherlands ambassador visits Colombo uni
View(s):Research links between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka were among the subjects discussed between the Ambassador of Netherlands to Sri Lanka Bonnie Horbach and Vice Chancellor of the Colombo University Senior Professor H D Karunaratne when the ambassador visited the university last week.
During the visit, ambassador Horbach signed the Visitor’s Book at College House, and the Vice Chancellor presented her a souvenir of the university.
General Secretary Netherlands-Sri Lanka Foundation Dilip Tambyrajah, Project Leader (University of Colombo) Professor Naazima Kamardeen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka Bonnie Horbach, University of Colombo Vice Chancellor Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne, Amsterdam Vrije Universiteit Professor Wouter Veraart, and Faculty of Law Dean Professor Sampath Punchihewa.
The ambassador attended a public lecture by Professor of Legal Philosophy at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, Wouter Veraart. Prof Veraart is in Sri Lanka for the research project ‘Whose Law? Addressing injustice in the entangled histories of Sri Lanka and the Netherlands, and advancing the practices of provenance research’, which is a collaborative project between the University of Colombo, the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Wereldmuseum Leiden and the Netherlands-Sri Lanka Foundation, funded by the Dutch Research Council.
