MAS Holdings retain Merc title for ninth consecutive year
MAS Holdings emerged overall champions for the ninth consecutive year at the Mercantile Tennis Tournament 2024, held at the SLTA courts in Greenpath, Colombo. Lanka Minerals and Chemicals secured the second place, while Acuity Knowledge Partners were placed third.
The tournament culminated with the Men’s Doubles final, a contest between four players from the champion team, MAS Holdings. Yasitha de Silva and Mark Seneviratne triumphed over teammates Sohan Patrick and Venushka de Silva with a comfortable 2-0 (6/1, 6/0) victory.

Two MAS Holdings players, Yasitha de Silva and Anjalika Kurera, had standout performances, each winning three titles. Yasitha claimed the Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles titles, while Anjalika won the Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
Sanka Athukorala, Ganendran Subramaniam, Aruna Seneviratne, and Rajiv Casie also earned two titles each. Sanka triumphed in both the Men’s Over-35 Singles and Doubles events, while Ganendran won the Men’s Over-45 and Over-55 Singles titles. Aruna and Rajiv secured the Men’s Over-45 and Over-55 Doubles titles, respectively.
