Tharindu’s debut ‘Monkey Man’ in cinemas soon

Young filmmaker Tharindu Deshapriya’s debut directorial venture ‘Monkey Man’ had a special screening for a selected group film lovers and journalists recently.
A reflection on people who are involved in rat races when they are young and realise that they have missed so much once they reached the sunset of their lives, ‘Monkey Man’ features the society and people that we come across in our day to day lives.
Talented cast including Kalana Gunasekara, Lakshman Mendis, Manoja Fernando, Dhanushka Jayaratne, Sanjeewa Dissanayake, Ruwan Madanayake Tharindu Kavinda Gamage and Madura Prashashwara and Lasantha Francis, Disney Rajapaksa and Poornima Videshika perform in ‘Monkey Man’ while Lasantha Pamuditha is introduced to the cinema.
Screenplay written by Kalana Gunasekara and Tharindu Deshapriya, cenematographed by Styner Adams, editing and colour grading by Malinda Sampath. Make up by Mananuwan Rupasinghe, art director is Charith Wickremathilake and musical score is written by Eranga Jayawardena.
Director Deshapriya had been involved in television, advertising and audio visual media for a long time. Having obtained a diploma in Sinhala and Mass communication from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, he joined cinema as an Assistant Director. Later Tharindu made a name as screenplay writer for audio-visual media and ‘Monkey Man’ is his first feature length film. It is to be screened in cinemas soon.
