Ghosh and Hossain steady Bangladesh juniors
A brilliant partnership between Adrito Ghosh and Ridoy Hossain guided Bangladesh side to 231/5 in response to Sri Lanka’s first innings score of 304, as rain interrupted play on the second day of the 3-day Under-17 match at Galle yesterday.
Ghosh struck a well-made 87, which included 10 boundaries and two sixes, while Hossain contributed with 55 runs, inclusive of seven boundaries. Together, the pair put on a vital 139-run stand for the second wicket.
Earlier, Sri Lanka resumed from their overnight score of 286/7 but could only add 17 more runs, finishing their innings at 304. Overnight batsman Rehan Peiris, who had made 139, was dismissed without adding to his score. The match ends today.
