Musaeus College’s Under-15 girls’ 4x100m freestyle relay team shattered a junior national record on the opening day of the National and Junior National Swimming Championship, organised by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union, at the Isipathana College Swimming Pool Complex.

The record-breaking quartet, led by anchor swimmer Rushalee Dissanayake, included Senuki de Silva, Naduli Gamage, and Sandhithi Ekanayake. Together, they clocked an impressive 4:26.75, surpassing the previous record of 4:27.63 set by Lyceum International School, Wattala in 2017.

Dissanayake’s strong finish in the final leg proved decisive, sealing their place in history. The team’s perfect coordination and determination were evident as they powered through each lap.

“Breaking this record is a dream come true. We trained hard, and it paid off,” said Dissanayake, who also stood out individually, with her exceptional performance elevating the team’s overall effort.
