Apna Perera made a remarkable comeback

Apna Perera clinched the Men’s Open Singles title at the SLTA Yeti Hard Court Tennis Nationals, defeating Ashen Silva in a three-set thriller at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo, yesterday.

Despite conceding the first set, Apna staged a remarkable comeback, clinching the next two sets in a hard-fought battle that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s Open Singles semi-finals, Rukshika Wijesuriya secured her spot in the final with a straight-set victory over Tuvini de Alwis. However, the other semi-final between Dinara de Silva and Oneli Samarawickrama was interrupted by rain and will resume today to determine the second finalist.
