Netanyahu’s declaration ‘We are changing the face of the Middle East’ must be condemned by all as a provocative utterance!

A week of totally unprovoked Israeli aggression on Syria, destroying the Syrian defence apparatus, invading and illegally grabbing the 50 year UN controlled demilitarised zone and occupying Syrian lands amidst Israeli Prime Minister declaring “… we are changing the face of the Middle East” must stand condemned as a provocative utterance by all political, business, civil society and religious leaders at least for the reason that destabilising the Middle East (ME) and global oil supplies will directly impact on the economic revival of Sri Lanka which this country can ill -afford.
The Communist Party of Sri Lanka in a welcome statement has ‘condemned the attacks on Syrian sovereignty led by US backed forces and Israel’.
Changing the “face of the ME” is none of the business of the American backed Israel, being a colonial occupying racist State, created at the cost of and without the consent of millions of displaced and destroyed Palestinians since 1917, when the British colonial power initiated the betrayal of Palestine.
CNN carried on Dec 12 the events under the title “Israel strikes (read ‘bombs’) Syria 480 times and seizes territory as Netanyahu pledges to change the face of the Middle East”. Israel bombing Syria without any provocation on false pretexts, seizing Syrian territory before the hardly known new interim Syrian Prime Minister Bashir could take his place in the capital Damascus and threatening to change the face of the ME are in gross violation of established civilisational standards, International laws and in contempt of the spirit of the 19/07/2024 ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
The disgusting part is that the Israeli aggression was launched even before the US controlled anti-Islamic ISIS mercenaries could take control of Syria and fix a new pro –Western outfit aimed at changing the ‘face of the ME’. The world now sees more clearly the tragedy of the United Nations (UN) recognizing Israel in 1948 and creating a powerful nuclear armed “monster” in the middle of the comparatively unarmed Arab world while Palestine got “observer status” only in 2012 and no membership to date in the UN!
The US arms industry would be in particular happy that years of war at regular intervals would be now in store for decades to come in the ME!
