Change in minimum entry qualifications for SLIIT degrees
View(s):The Ministry of Education and Higher education has issued an extraordinary gazette amending the minimum entry qualifications when admitting students for the degree programme in respect of Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (Guarantee) Limited.
The new gazette issued on Monday, December 16, amended the minimum qualifications mentioned in the previous gazette issued six months ago.
According to the new amendment, the institute shall admit students to the degree programme in respect of the Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology with a minimum of 120 credits (SLQF Level 6).According to a previous gazette, admission of students for the degree programme was done in respect of Bachelor of Laws Honours.
The minimum entry qualification is to be three simple passes (S) in one and the same sitting at the GCE (Advanced Level) exam conducted by the Department of Examinations or equivalent qualification and a simple pass for General English at the GCE (Advance Level) exam.
Earlier the minimum qualification for the entry of the course was two credit passes and one simple pass in Advanced Level examinations and a credit pass in English Language and a credit pass (C) in the Sinhala or Tamil Language at the GCE (Ordinary Level) exam. (KW)
