EDEX 2025: Shaping Sri Lanka’s future through education and innovation

EDEX EXPO 2025 is set to return as Sri Lanka’s leading education and career development event, empowering the youth to achieve global competitiveness. Taking place from January 17th to 19th at BMICH, Colombo, and January 25th & 26th at Kandy City Centre, Kandy, the event promises a wealth of opportunities for students, professionals, and job seekers.

This year’s expo will host over a100 educational institutions, 20 leading corporates, and three international pavilions from Canada, India, and Indonesia. Local universities will provide pathways for students to pursue higher their education infavoured destinations such as New Zealand, China, the UK, the US, Australia and more.

In December 2024, EDEX 365′s Nenaphana initiative made a landmark contribution by donating books worth LKR 4 million to 26 schools in the Buththala Divisional Secretariat. The event, held in partnership with Uva Wellassa University and local entrepreneurs, included industrial visits to inspire secondary students toward entrepreneurship and offered insights into future educational and career opportunities.

This spirit of innovation and empowerment continues at EDEX 2025, with key highlights, such as:

•  Sithuwam Art Competitions: Featuring a new AI-assisted category, embracing global trends in digital creativity under the supervision of the University of Visual and Performing Arts.

•  Think Green Initiative: Showcasing the Urban Green Tower concept, promoting sustainability amongst the youth.

•  Edutainment Zone: Interactive sessions on live portrait drawing, sculpture making, and STEM-based activities, blending creativity with hands-on learning.

•  Entrepreneurship Guidance: Inspiring and equipping future business leaders with tools to drive innovation.

On January 18th, EDEX will hold an award ceremony to honour winners of the Sithuwam annual art competitions, while recognising the artistic contributions of the University of Visual and Performing Arts students.

The Colombo leg of the expo will be officially inaugurated by the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka,His Excellency Andrew Patrick, who will grace the event as the Chief Guest, underscoring its international significance.
