Matheesha and Adithi pocket Air Force squash titles

Adithi Gunasekara receives her Girls’ trophy
Matheesha Wijesekara of Royal College and Adithi Gunasekara of Ladies’ College emerged champions in the Under-19 category of the 16th Sri Lanka Air Force Squash Championship, which concluded at the Air Force Squash Complex.
At just 16-years-old, Matheesha impressed the crowd not only by winning the Under-19 title, but also clinching the Under-17 crown. In the Boys’ Under-19 final, Matheesha defeated his schoolmate Tharul Pinwatta, who secured the runner-up spot. The third place was claimed by Mohammed Rilwan of St. Joseph’s College, while Thesath Hapuarachchi of Royal College finished in fourth.
In the Girls’ Under-19 division, Adithi Gunasekara claimed the top spot by defeating Ranliya Wood of Lindsay Girls’ School in a thrilling final. Ranliya, a national player, settled for the runner-up position. The bronze medal went to Akeesha Samaranayake from Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, while Misara Weerasinghe, also from Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, took fourth place.
