View(s):An extraordinary celebration of authentic Chinese cuisine and culture festival will be held at the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo from January 20 to 22, 2025. The Chinese Food Festival will bring together renowned chefs, traditional performances and immersive culinary experiences, creating an unforgettable event for food enthusiasts and cultural aficionados alike.
This three-day festival promises to take guests on a gastronomic journey through the rich flavuors and traditions of Chinese cuisine. A curated selection of authentic Chinese dishes will be showcased, highlighting regional flavours—from the bold and fiery Sichuan cuisine to the delicate and balanced fare from other parts of China.
In addition to the exquisite food, the festival will feature dynamic martial arts performances, offering an exciting display of Chinese skill, precision, and strength. The iconic Lion Dance performance will also take centre stage, bringing good fortune and festive cheer to the event. Guests will also have the chance to experience the timeless art of the Chinese Tea Ceremony, where expert tea masters will guide them through the delicate process of brewing and savouring some of China’s finest teas.
The festival will also include a display of Handicrafts, where guests can explore the intricate beauty of traditional Chinese art. From delicate porcelain to vibrant textiles, the craft displays will showcase the skill and craftsmanship that define Chinese artistry.
The star attraction of the festival is the Celebrity Chef Lineup, featuring world-renowned chefs who have elevated Chinese cuisine globally. Chef Lan Minglu, Chairman of the highest honour of the French Blue Ribbon and Executive Vice Chairman of the Famous Chef Committee of the Chinese Cuisine Association, will be a key highlight of the festival. Chef Lan’s culinary mastery and innovative approach have earned him worldwide recognition. He is also the Vice President of the Sichuan Provincial Sichuan Cuisine Foreign Exchange Promotion Association and has significantly impacted the international culinary scene.
Chef Yang Luming, Deputy Head Chef of the Asian Games and Head Chef of Sichuan Cuisine at the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao, will showcase his exceptional skills at the festival. Chef Yang is renowned for his expertise in Sichuan cuisine and his remarkable contributions to Chinese gastronomy.
Joining them is Chef Chen Qi, a Chengdu Technical Expert specialising in cold and hot dishes, whose mastery of Sichuan culinary techniques will captivate attendees. Chef Chen’s reputation for preserving and innovating Sichuan cuisine has earned him widespread acclaim.
