J’pura Uni welcomes new batches
View(s):A string of inauguration ceremonies of the orientation programme for the new intakes for various faculties of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was held in the past two weeks.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (2024) welcomed more than 1,000 students with a ceremony held at the Bandaranaike Hall with the participation of the vice chancellor senior prof Pathmalal Manage, registrar A B Weliwita, librarian, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences deanp prof Shirantha Heenkenda, dean of other faculties, heads of departments as well as the academic members of the faculty. Professor Sepala Samarasekara, the chairman of the orientation committee, introduced the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to the new students.
The Faculty of Medical Sciences welcomed its new intake (34th batch) with an inauguration ceremony of the orientation programme on January 6.
The ceremony was held at the Anatomy Auditorium and was attended by senior prof Manage, Mr Weliwita, Faculty of Medical Sciences dean Prof Manori Gamage, and deans of other faculties, heads of departments, as well as the academic members of the faculty.
The Faculty of Dental Sciences welcomed its new intake with an inauguration ceremony of the orientation programme on the same day.
