University of Sri Jayewardenepura 18th external degree convocation
View(s):The University of Sri Jayewardenepura celebrated its 18th External Degree Convocation 2024 last Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo 07.
A total of 1,936 graduates participated in the ceremony, receiving degrees across various disciplines.
The ceremony was graced by the Chancellor, Most Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thero, who delivered a message encouraging graduates to leverage their knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in their respective fields and society.
The Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor M.M. Pathmalal, extended his congratulations and urged the graduates to uphold the university’s legacy as a beacon of academic excellence.
The event was attended by the Registrar, Mr. A.B. Welivita, along with members of the academic staff, marking it as a momentous occasion for the university.
Degrees were conferred on students enrolled in programmes offered through the External Degrees and Extension Courses Unit (EDECU), recognising their academic achievements and commitment to higher education.

- Bachelor of Humanities and Social Sciences (General) External Degree
- Bachelor of Arts (General) External Degree
- Bachelor of Social Sciences (General) External Degree in Environmental and Development Studies
- Bachelor of Arts in English (General)External Degree
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (General) External Degree
- Bachelor of Commerce (General) External Degree
- Bachelor of Science in Management (Public) (General) External Degree
- Bachelor of Science Business Studies (General) External Degree
