Work on one of Sri Lanka’s most significant hotel investment projects, the Aviyana Private Chalets in Udispattuwa, located off Kandy, is moving ahead as planned, according to Aviyana Hotel Group Chairman/CEO, Dr. Thisara Hewawasam. With approximately 70% of the project already completed, the Rs. 10 billion development is set to open its doors in mid-2025. The luxury retreat promises to enhance Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector, offering a blend of privacy and exclusivity in the picturesque surroundings of Udispattuwa.
Aviyana Hotel, poised to become one of the world’s most luxurious ‘beyond five-star’ status, will open in phases, with the first 10-15 chalets out of a total of 60 scheduled for launch by March 2025. The luxury property will offer investors the unique opportunity for full or partial ownership of these exclusive chalets, providing a rare blend of private investment and top-tier hospitality.

Our goal is to position Sri Lanka as a leading destination for luxury travel, attracting billionaires and global celebrities’ said Dr. Hewawasam.
