Lower Grade 5 scholarship cut-off marks announced
View(s):More than 50,000 students who sat the Grade 5 scholarship exam have reached the cut-off marks set to apply to another school.
A total of 319,284 students sat the exam, which later ran into controversy after some of the questions were leaked.
Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara said cut-off marks have been reduced compared to recent years.
The mark for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Kandy and Matale Sinhala medium students has been set at 143, while the mark for these districts in the Tamil medium has been set at 141.
The cut-off mark has been higher in the past few years with the highest being 169 in 2020. Last year the Sinhala medium cut off mark was 154.
Appeals regarding the cut-off mark will be received until January 27.
