St. Joseph’s College edged out Prince of Wales College with a narrow first-innings win in their Under-19 inter-school cricket encounter, which concluded yesterday at Darley Road. Rain delays reduced the play to just 17 overs on the opening day, and the second day began with a late start.
Prince of Wales resumed from their overnight score of 42 for 3 and declared their innings at 166 for 8. St. Joseph’s responded with a cautious effort, declaring their innings at 172 for 8 to secure the first innings lead in a closely contested match.
Meanwhile, in other concluded matches, Dharmaloka Kelaniya, Sandalankawa Central, Skandavarodaya College, Chunnakam and Sri Pangnananda Raddoluwa, all secured first innings victories.
