Lady Gaga will release her seventh album ‘Mayhem’ on 7th March, a few weeks before she turns 39. The new album will contain 14 tracks including the singles ‘Die With A Smile’ a very successful duet with Bruno Mars and ‘Disease’. A third single will be promoted on 2nd February during the commercial break of the Grammy awards show. Lady Gaga will be executive producer of the forthcoming album with her boyfriend Michael Polansky and Andrew Watt. Her last album ‘Chromatica’ was released in 2020.
Coldplay set new record at performance in India
Coldplay have set a new record for playing before the largest audience at a stadium of the 21st Century. The band made the mark during their two shows on January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India. 111,000 people attended the shows per night. The previous record was held by country musician George Strait who had 110,905 fans at his concert held in June 2024 in Texas, US.
Lola Young claims No. 1 position with ‘Messy’
Lola Young has claimed the No.1 position on the UK singles chart with her breakthrough hit ‘Messy’ this week. The South London artist’s song began its long journey 11 weeks ago at 83 on the chart before making its entry on the top 10, peaking at No.7. During the Christmas season ‘Messy’ faltered, dropping down as far as 33. But it gathered momentum shortly after the New Year and re- entered the top 10 at No.3, only to be held back by Gracie Abrams ‘That’s So True’. This week ‘Messy’ ended the reign of ‘That’s So True’, to give the 24 year old her very first chart topping song. As the track went viral on Tik Tok, the doors opened internationally. She has since appeared on several live shows including the Jimmy Fallon show in January. ‘Messy’ is the sixth single to taken off Lola’s second album ‘This Wasn’t Meant For You’. The song is clearly the BRIT School graduate’s breakthrough hit as none of the previous releases made it to the chart. The singer has co-written her debut hit with Conor Dickinson and has co-produced the track with Carter Lang, Solomonphonica (Jared Solomon) and Monsune (Scott Zhang). Young who has battled mental health issues, frequent vocal cord problems, was the voice picked for the 2021 John Lewis Christmas TV commercial, covering Phil Oakley’s 1984 hit ‘Together In Electric Dreams’.
‘GBP’ by Central Cee debuts in the UK Top 10
The first song from the year 2025 to debut inside the UK top 10 singles chart is ‘GBP’ by Central Cee featuring 21 Savage. The rap track debuted at No. 6 to give the 26 year old artist from Shepherd’s Bush, London his 9th UK top 10 hit. ‘GBP’ is the lead single from his new album ‘Can’t Rush Greatness’. ‘GBP’ is the sixth UK top hit for 32 year old 21 Savage, the London born and Atlanta, Georgia based rap star.
