Drake announces release of new album

Drake who is in a middle of feud with fellow rap and recent Grammy award winning artist Kendrick Lamar,      has announced the release of his next album ‘$exy $ongs 4 U’ on 14th February. The 38 year old Canadian singer and rapper took to social media on 3rd February to tease through a short video clip the news. Drake is collaborating with rap artist and fellow countryman PartyNextDoor on the forthcoming. This will be Drake first full length album since ‘For All The Dogs’ in 2023 and his EP ‘100 Gigs’ in 2024. PartyNextDoor 31, whose actual name is Jahron Bratwaite and signed on Drake’s record label OVO Sound will play a secondary as things appear to be at the moment.


 

FireAid raises  US $100 million


The FireAid concerts held last month at the LA Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, has raised over $100 million. The money will help immediate requirements and long-term recovery in the area where over 12,000 homes were destroyed. Several artists participated in the charity event. Meanwhile reports from the US also say that over $24 million was raised during the Grammy awards weekend for similar charity work through the Recording Academy and MusiCares for the Los Angeles wildfire recovery effort.


 

Central Cee secures the highest debut entry


Central Cee secured the highest debuting entry on the UK singles chart top 10, with ‘CRG’ at No.6 this week. The song title in full ‘Can’t Rush Greatness’ is also the title of his new album that coincidently debuted at No.1 on the UK albums chart this week. The album was released on 24th January with the official single being ‘GBP’, which debuted on the chart last week at No.6 (it dropped a notch this week). ‘CRG’ has received a lot streaming to help it propel into the top 10. Central Cee who is AKA Cench has collaborated with fellow UK rap artist Dave on the song ‘CRG’. Their last collaboration ‘Sprinter’ was No.1 on the UK singles chart for 10 consecutive weeks in 2023. The track ‘CRG’ has a West African beat in the melody which sounds good in the background.


 

Tate McRae scores second highest entry on the UK singles chart


Tate McRae scored the second highest entry on the UK singles chart this week as ‘Sports Car’ debuted on the top 10 at No.8. ‘Sports Car’ which is reminiscent of the Pussycat Dolls 2006 hit ‘Buttons’ at a slightly slower pace, is taken from the 21 year Canadian artist’s next album ‘So Close To What’, due for release on 21st February. The song is co- produced by Grant Boutin and Ryan Tedder. ‘Sports Car’ is McRae’s fifth UK top 10 hit song.
