Lahiru Udara produced a scintillating double century for NCC against Moors SC on day two of their Major Club 3-day encounter in Moratuwa yesterday. Udara’s blistering knock of 206 off 214 balls featured 21 boundaries and five sixes.

He set the tone with an authoritative 154-run opening stand with Niroshan Dickwella before adding 85 runs for the third wicket with Kamil Mishara, who made 19. Udara further strengthened NCC’s position with a crucial 110-run partnership with Sahan Arachchige for the fourth wicket, propelling them to a commanding 409 for 5 in response to Moors SC’s first-innings total of 256.

Meanwhile, Shevon Daniel and Charith Asalanka’s centuries put SSC in a dominant position against Tamil Union at the SSC ground. SSC finished the day strongly at 432 for 4, comfortably surpassing Tamil Union’s total of 320. The matches continue today.
