A Unique Milestone for PIM: First Sri Lankan Educational Institution Accredited by SAQS
View(s):The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), the business school of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has made history by becoming the first educational institution in Sri Lanka to receive the prestigious South Asian Quality Standards (SAQS) accreditation. The SAQS accreditation process considers a variety of stringent criteria, including the quality of faculty, the relevance of the curriculum, research and development of both students and the faculty, among many other aspects. This remarkable achievement, provided by the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) highlights PIM’s alignment with international educational standards. Thus, this accomplishment positions PIM as a leading management education institution in South Asia, while highlighting its commitment to the highest global standards of academic quality, research and development, and professional development. Hence, this achievement is not just an acknowledgment of PIM’s rich legacy, but also an ample testimony to the commitment and visionary leadership that has driven the institution’s development.
In a statement commending this achievement, Senior Professor Pathmalal Manage, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, expressed his thoughts as follows: “Obtaining SAQS accreditation is a monumental triumph for PIM and a significant recognition of the University’s overall commitment to providing world-class education. It required years of meticulous planning, and the unwavering preparation of all PIM stakeholders.
