Applications called for 3 Provincial Director of Education posts
View(s):The Ministry of Education has called for applications from Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service Grade I officers for the post of Provincial Director of Education for 2025.
The posts of Provincial Director of Education for the Western, Eastern and Northern Provinces are vacant.
Applicants should have a satisfactory service period of not less than 5 years in Grade I of the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service. They should also have completed all qualifications as at or before the closing date of the applications.
Duly filled applications prepared in A4 size papers in accordance with the specimen application should be sent by registered post to: The Assistant Secretary
Education Services Establishments Branch, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Isurupaya,
Battaramulla.
‘Application for the Post of Provincial Director of Education’ should be marked at the top-left corner of the envelope.
Applications need to be submitted before or on March 3.
Delayed applications will be rejected.
A recent colour photograph of the applicant, 2” x 2 1/2” in size, should be affixed at the top-right corner of the application.
The appointments are carried out by the Education Service Committee of the Public Service Commission upon the recommendations made by an interview board consisting of 3 members appointed by the Public Service Commission. (A representative nominated by the governor of the relevant province is also included.)
The structured interview is to be held at the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Isurupaya, Battaramulla on a date to be informed in future.
The final decision in respect of this appointment is vested in the Education Service Committee of the Public Service Commission.

The marking scheme would cover 9 criteria including: seniority, service experience, educational qualifications, creativity and professional development, knowledge on computer literacy, English language proficiency, service evaluation and achievements, presentation as well as overall skills displayed at the interview.
