Ilma International Girls’ School Hosts Yet Another Thrilling 14th International Schools’ U-20 Netball Tournament 2025
View(s):The energy was palpable as Ilma International Girls’ School proudly hosted the 14th International Schools’ Under-20 Netball Tournament 2025. Held on February 2nd at St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, the tournament once again cemented its reputation as a premier sporting event, bringing together outstanding sportsmanship.
The tournament saw fierce competition between some of Sri Lanka’s top international schools, including Ilma International Girls’ School, Gateway College Colombo, Gateway College Kandy, Royal Institute, Asian International School, Lyceum International School Wattala, Lyceum International School Nugegoda, Wycherley International School Colombo, Stafford International, Lyceum International School Panadura, and British School Colombo.
With adrenaline running high, the teams battled it out on the court, displaying remarkable agility and teamwork. Gateway College Colombo emerged as the undisputed champions, showcasing their dominance in the sport. Gateway College Kandy secured the 1st runners-up position, while Lyceum International School Wattala claimed 2nd runners-up. In recognition of their unwavering sportsmanship and commitment to fair play, Ilma International Girls’ School was honoured with the coveted Spirit of the Game award, a testament to their perseverance and team spirit.
Adding prestige to the event, the Chief Guest was Ms. Caryll Tozer, President of the Western Province Netball Association, and the Guest of Honour was Ms. Krishani George, Founder of Stretch & Tone. Their presence and words of encouragement inspired young athletes and reinforced the importance of discipline and dedication
in sports.
