Police, Chilaw Marians record wins
Police SC pulled off a crushing 6-wicket win over Ace Capital with a day to spare in the Major Club 3-day tournament at Police Park yesterday. Police resumed the second day at 219-8 and went on to post 250 runs in reply to 115 runs made by Ace Capital in the first innings. Batting for the second time, Ace Capital were restricted to 198 runs, which left Police with a simple target of 64, which they reached after losing four wickets to record their third win of the season.
Chilaw Marians defeated Ragama CC by 4 wickets in another match played at Maggona, as the victors claimed their second outright win of the competition. CCC are set to pull off an early win against Kandy Customs with just 84 runs away from the winning post, when stumps were drawn at Maitland Crescent. The remaining six matches will continue today.
