Ton-up Tanuja steadies Thurstan
Thurstan College opener Tanuja Rajapakse starred with a brilliant century on the second day of the Under-19 Division I Tier ‘B’ semi-final against traditional rivals Isipathana College at the Sooriyawewa Stadium yesterday.
Rajapakse’s composed 101 featured eight boundaries and a six, anchoring Thurstan’s innings with two crucial partnerships. He shared 69 runs for the third wicket with Janitha Rukshan and 78 runs for the fourth wicket with Vihas Thewmika. His efforts helped Thurstan finish the day at 208 for 4. Earlier, Isipathana, resuming from their overnight total of 283 for 8, managed to post 304 before being bowled out. Overnight centurion Ranmith Senarath, who was on 155, could only add one more run to his tally.
