Kithma, Nethula deny S. Thomas’ victory
Kithma Widanapathirana and Nethula Edirimanna cracked half centuries as the Ananda College duo denied S. Thomas’ College of an outright win in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Mt. Lavinia yesterday. Ananda, after being bundled out for a paltry 104 against S. Thomas’ formidable score of 339 for 7 declared, was forced to follow on. They were left with the daunting task of erasing a huge deficit of 235 runs which they achieved thanks to Kithma and Nethula.
Meanwhile a triple century (300 off 264 balls) by Isuru Nidarshana of Moratu MV was the highlight of the Moratu MV vs Zahira College match played at Maradana. The youngster slammed 29 boundaries and 14 sixes in his marathon knock helping his side to a massive score of 539.
