Shoe voucher validity extended
The validity period of the gift vouchers provided for school footwear for 2025 has been extended until March 20, the Education Ministry said. Earlier the Cabinet approved a proposal to provide Rs 3,000 gift vouchers to purchase shoes for students in selected schools, including piriven.
Teacher shortage continues, over 40,000 needed
The education sector is still short of over 40,000 teachers, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya told Parliament this week.
