An inspiring evening of achievement and creativity unfolded at the Marino Beach Hotel as “English with Rishh,” led by the dynamic educator Rishma Farhan, celebrated the graduation of its students alongside a vibrant talent showcase. The event marked a significant milestone for the young learners who completed their courses in 2024, highlighting their dedication and growth in language proficiency.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Ayana Azwath and M. Ibrahim, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day’s celebrations. Following the national anthems of Sri Lanka and the United States, the spotlight turned to the first segment of the evening – the awarding of certificates, trophies, and medals to graduates of the Foundation in Reading Certificate Course. The honours were presented by the Director, Mr. M.S. Muhammed, and Directress, Ms. Rishma Farhan.

Adding a lively twist to the occasion, the Advanced English students of Royal Academy showcased their theatrical talents through a humorous drama performance, reflecting the creativity nurtured within the academy.

One of the highlights was the acknowledgment of students’ exceptional achievements at the UK Reading Festival organised by ALTEC. Out of 68 participants, 29 students reached the finals, with three securing trophies. Additionally, 41 students were awarded Platinum Medals, and 27 received Gold Medals. This remarkable performance earned Royal Academy the distinction of having the highest number of winners at the finals.

The event also celebrated graduates of the Diploma in English/Spoken English for Ladies. These students were commended for their perseverance and commitment to enhancing their language skills. The diplomas were presented by the esteemed Guest of Honour, Mrs. Fazliya Rameez, alongside Directress Rishma Farhan. A heartwarming moment was shared as young students performed the iconic song “Heal the World,” spreading a message of kindness, empathy, and unity.

The evening reached its peak with the graduation of the first batch of students from the International Advanced American Diploma in English – a prestigious milestone that recognised their dedication of over 100 hours of learning. These graduates were honoured by the Principal of Royal International, Mrs. Rizwana Farhan, and Directress Rishma Farhan, setting a high standard for future batches.

Reflecting on the importance of reading and language mastery, Saliha Nazar delivered an inspiring speech, emphasising the lifelong value of literacy. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Directress Rishma Farhan, celebrating the graduates’ achievements and expressing gratitude to all guests, teachers, and parents for their continued support.

The celebration at Marino Beach Hotel was not just about certificates and awards but also about inspiring the next generation to reach for greater heights. Under the leadership of Rishma Farhan, “English with Rishh” continues to empower students with the confidence, skills and creativity to succeed in an ever-evolving world.
