International Construction Consortium to build National College of Education in Kuliyapitiya
View(s):The Cabinet has approved the construction of a hostel for the National College of Education for technology to be established in Narangalle, Kuliyapitiya.
The project was awarded to International Construction Consortium (Pvt) Ltd, which submitted the lowest bid for the contract of planning and construction of hostel buildings.
The previous Cabinet had approved the selection of an appropriate contractor following a tender process. 12 bids were submitted. Approval was granted based on the recommendations of the Cabinet’s standing procurement committee.
The initial Cabinet approval to establish a National College of Education for Technology in Narangalle, Kuliyapitiya was given in 2017. The construction is to be done under South Korean government grants.
The National College of Education for Technology was set up to meet the teacher requirement after the subject was introduced to the Advanced Level classes.
