Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ receives a second lease of chart life
When Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ was released in May 2024, it made waves in many countries taking the No. 1 position largely as it was felt the lyrics were based around a feud with fellow rap artist Drake. In the UK, the song peaked at No 6, before it began to retreat ultimately leaving the chart at No.96 in October 2024. In February 2025, following a sweep at the Grammy awards, and a Super Bowl half time performance, ‘Not Like Us’ received a second lease of chart life resuming at No. 27 three weeks ago. Last week the song advanced to No.2 and this week replaced Lola Young’s ‘Messy’ at the No.1 position on the UK singles chart.
Lamar has lyrics credit under Kendrick Duckworth for the song. ‘Not Like US’ is a stand alone single and is Lamar’s first No.1 UK song. Meanwhile two of his collaborative tracks ‘Luther’ and ‘All The Stars’ with SZA have rebounded to the top 10 this week at No.4 and No.5.
Sabrina Carpenter’s tracks get a boost
