Britain’s Chief Sangha Nayaka meets King Charles III at Windsor Castle
View(s):The Chief Sangha Nayaka of Great Britain and Head Monk of the London Buddhist Vihara, Most Venerable Bogoda Seelawimala Thera was invited to Windsor Castle by King Charles III of the United Kingdom for a convivial evening on Thursday together with a small group.
During the discussion the Most Ven. Seelawimala Thera invited the King for the centenary celebrations of the London Buddhist Vihara which was established by the Anagarika Dharmapala in 1926 and is currently managed by the Anagarika Dharmapala Trust in Sri Lanka.
King Charles also showed Most Venerable Seelawimala Thera the gift he had presented to Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The gift is retained at the library of Windsor Castle with a description of the model stupa, the pagoda-like structure used as a place of worship by Buddhists.
