From March 13-23, the Sky Gallery of the Fareed Uduman Art Forum will present Dreamscapes –showcasing the surreal world of Salvador Dalí. Featuring meticulously reproduced masterpieces by the legendary artist, this is a rare opportunity for art enthusiasts to step into the dreamlike realm of one of the 20th century’s most iconic and enigmatic figures.

Dreamscapes will be open to the public from Wednesday March 13 and is presented with the authorisation of VEGAP (Visual Entidad de Gestión de Artistas Plásticos). Each artwork has been crafted with the utmost care, ensuring that the detail and brilliance of Dalí’s original creations are faithfully preserved.

Salvador Dalí is celebrated for his extraordinary ability to merge reality with fantasy, creating paintings that serve as a visual exploration of dreams, subconscious thoughts and the bizarre. Throughout his career, Dalí drew inspiration from a wide range of sources, including classical Renaissance painters, Freudian psychoanalysis, and groundbreaking scientific discoveries.

By transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, he invites viewers to delve into the depths of their own subconscious. His surreal imagery often evokes a sense of weightlessness and instability, challenging our understanding of physical laws and pushing the boundaries of perception.

Deeply personal, his art frequently draws from his own life and psyche, merging religious themes with surrealist elements. This fusion reflects his fascination with the intersection of the divine and the human. His collaboration with filmmaker Luis Buñuel on the surrealist film Un Chien Andalou (1929) further solidified his reputation as a boundary-pushing artist, cementing his legacy as a master of the surreal.

Said Jomo Uduman, director of the Fareed Uduman Art Forum, “We are honoured to bring Dreamscapes to Sky Gallery. Salvador Dalí›s work continues to inspire and challenge our perceptions of reality and this exhibition is a tribute to his genius and a chance for visitors to explore the depths of their own imagination.”

Dreamscapes will be open to the public from Wednesday March 13 to Sunday March 23, at Sky Gallery, Colombo 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
