Two brilliant knocks by Dimantha Mahavithana and Chaniru Senaratne powered Trinity College to a commanding 6-wicket victory over traditional rivals St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota in the semi-final of the Under-19 Inter-Schools Division I Tier ‘A’ Limited Overs Tournament at the BRC Ground yesterday.

Chasing a target of 158, Dimantha top-scored with a fluent 74 with six boundaries. He was instrumental in two crucial partnerships, first adding 46 runs for the third wicket with Aadham Hilmy, followed by a match-winning 82-run stand for the fourth wicket with Chaniru. The latter remained unbeaten on 44, striking two boundaries and a six, as Trinity comfortably reached the target in the 46th over. Trinity will now face St. Joseph’s College in the final.
