Dinara beat Shivali to setup J30 final with Sakino
Sri Lanka’s Dinara de Silva advanced to the final of the ITF Junior Circuit J30 Week 1 Tennis Tournament when she recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Shivali Gurung of Nepal in the Girl’s Singles semi-final encounter played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.
In the second semi-final Japan’s Sakino Miyazaawa coasted to a similar 2-0 win against Swanika Roy of USA. Dinara and Sakino will battle it out in the Girl’s Singles final today at the same venue. Meanwhile Dinara, who had qualified to the Girls’ Doubles final partnered with Yijia Zhao of China, suffered a defeat at the hands of Shivali Gurnung of Nepal and Gwen Emily Kurniawan of Indonesia by 2-0, ending up with the runner-up title.
In the Boy’s Singles, Fu Wang Choi of Hong Kong emerged champion after he overcame Luke Koh of Singapore with a hard fought 2-1 win.
