FIM’s Nita Korhonen felicitated by FMSSL in Colombo

Nita Korhonen, the Liaison Director of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the global governing body for motorcycling, was honoured at a prestigious event hosted by the Federation of Motorcycle Sports Sri Lanka (FMSSL) at a leading hotel in Colombo.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by FMSSL’s general committee members, who expressed their deep appreciation for Korhonen’s contributions to the development of motorcycle sports worldwide. As FMSSL operates under the guidance of FIM’s regulations and principles, her visit held significant importance in strengthening Sri Lanka’s alignment with international standards.
During her visit, Korhonen engaged in discussions with the Deputy Minister of Sport and other key figures in the country’s motorsports sector. The meetings focused on the growth and future of motorcycle racing in Sri Lanka, highlighting potential areas for improvement in infrastructure, safety, and training programmes. Beyond official meetings, Korhonen toured various regions of the island, inspecting different racing tracks and assessing their conditions.
