Forging a Global Academic Legacy: NIBM and Coventry University

As one of Sri Lanka’s premier higher education institutions, NIBM has been at the forefront of nurturing technological talent and fostering research-driven education. NIBM has turned the first page of a remarkable journey, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a research-driven academic culture, and establishing NIBM’s growing influence in advancing academic research and fostering collaborations between higher education and the tech industry.

The presence and contributions of distinguished dignitaries at ICACIT 2025 significantly enhanced the event’s success and academic rigor. Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, honoured the event with his esteemed insights, offering a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and his profound expertise in academic leadership and his visionary approach to shaping the future of education served as a true inspiration to all attendees. The conference featured two keynote speeches delivered by the industry leader, Mr. Anura Adikari, Director of Technology at 99x and Founder & CEO at COMPULIN, and Dr. Rushan Abeygunawardana, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo who provided invaluable perspectives and their vast experience in the tech and academic fields added significant value to the event.

Following a rigorous double-blind review process, 33 of the highest-quality papers were selected for oral presentations. Each paper submission was meticulously evaluated by a panel of experienced researchers and experts from prestigious local and international universities including Coventry University, UK, University of Colombo, University of Moratuwa, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, The Open University of Sri Lanka, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and University of Kelaniya, who provided insightful feedback to enhance the quality of the work.

The parallel sessions, headed by judge panelists, including Dr. Ajantha Athukorala, Director, University of Colombo, School of Computing, Dr. Rushan Abeygunawardana, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, Dr Saminda Premarathne (DESIGNATION), Dr. Gayan Dharamarathna (DESIGNATION), and Dr. (NAME) Wedasinghe (DESIGNATION), provided invaluable insights and constructive feedback, further enriching the research discourse on bridging the gap between research and industry applications, allowing undergraduate researchers to present their groundbreaking studies on topics ranging from Computing, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and Information Technology for Business (ADD THE TOPICS).
