Colombo and Dambulla evenly matched
Colombo holds a lead of 121 with three wickets in hand, but Dambulla remains in the driver’s seat following their dominant first-innings batting display at the end of day three in the National Super League 4-day cricket match played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium yesterday.
Resuming from their overnight total of 342-4, centuries from Pavan Ratnayake and skipper Dhananjaya de Silva powered Dambulla to a commanding 400 runs in response to Colombo’s first-innings total of 300. In their second innings, Colombo battled to reach 221-6, keeping their hopes alive with a narrow lead.
Meanwhile, Niroshan Dickwella and Ravintha Rasantha’s centuries fuelled Jaffna’s resurgence against Kandy in the match played at R. Premadasa Stadium. Jaffna are currently leading Kandy by 247 runs as the game heads to an exciting final day today. Both matches will end today.
