Maligawa gears for huge crowds at exposition
View(s):Sri Dalada Maligawa is being prepared for the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic from April 17 to 27. This is the first exposition after sixteen years, and the second after the present incumbent Pradeep Nilanga Dela came into office.
The Maligwa authorities are expecting around 100,000 devotees daily. On the first day the sacred relic will be exposed for veneration from 3 pm to 5.30 p.m.
There would be three queues to enter the Maligawa through the main entrance. The queues will then proceed to the viewing chamber on the first floor, right opposite the inner chamber.

Of prime importance during the exposition will be the safety and the wellbeing of the devotees, said Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela.
Arrangements include three well-defined paths to enter the Maligawa and then the veneration area on the first floor, where the sacred tooth relic would be brought from the inner shrine room.
Meanwhile the beautification of Kandy city is underway ahead of the exposition.
