Koelmeyer, a great servant of Wattala CC
Veteran and experienced cricketer Elvis Koelmeyer was a great cricketer for St. Anthony’s College, Wattala years back. He started his cricket career at the age of 10 years (Under-12 in 1975) and continued up to Under-19 level. He was the Bata Observer Most Popular Outstation Schoolboy Cricketer in 1984 and continued to win the Best All-rounder’s award in 1985. Elvis also represented the Outstation against the Colombo Schools team in 1985.
He joined Wattala Cricket Club at the age of 16 and played for almost over 20 years in all divisions. He also won the best bowlers award for Wattala CC in the inter-club finals. Elvis represented the Gampaha District team led by Arjuna Ranatunga in 1984, which emerged champs.
