Yevan David joins Motopark for 2025 Euroformula campaign
View(s):Yevan David, one of the most exciting young racing prospects from Asia, will take the next step in his journey to Formula 1 with confirmation that he will compete in the 2025 Euroformula Open season with the highly successful Motopark team.
The 17-year-old Sri Lankan driver has built an impressive racing résumé, progressing from a decorated karting career into single-seaters with immediate results. Having showcased his talent in Formula 4 level competition, David now graduates to Euroformula Open, where he will compete on some of the most iconic circuits in Europe.
“I am thrilled to be joining Motopark for the 2025 season,” said David.
David made history as the first Sri Lankan to score points in both Formula 4 and Eurocup 3, achieved pole position at the FIA Motorsport Games and became the first multiple Formula 3 level race winner from Sri Lanka. He is also a two-time X30 Asian Series Champion and impressed in the FIA-CIK karting Championships before making his single seater debut in the F4 UAE Series.

I am proud to represent Sri Lanka on the international stage and hope to inspire more young racers from my country to pursue motorsport.”
Motopark, renowned for nurturing top-tier talent and securing numerous championship titles, has a strong track record of producing drivers who advance to the highest levels of single-seater racing. Motopark has become the stepping stone for several successful racing careers having supported many drivers on their racing journeys including current Formula 1 drivers Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda. Motorpark Team Principal Timo Rumpfkeil expressed his confidence in David’s potential.

David’s transition into Euroformula Open is also a milestone for Sri Lankan motorsport. As one of the few drivers from the region competing on the global stage, his progress is a source of inspiration for young racers from South Asia looking to break into international competition. Brands such as Merc Stop, Alcom and Dayholi as well as Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC) support David on his journey.
Euroformula Open’s 2025 season will see David compete against some of the brightest rising stars in motorsport, with races held at legendary circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, and Barcelona. The season begins at Portugal’s Portimao race circuit on April 27.
The 2025 Euroformula calendar comprises eight rounds across renowned European circuits, each hosting three races, totalling 24 races for the season. The season commences on April 26 and 27 at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, Portugal, and concludes on October 18 and 19 at Monza, Italy. Other venues include Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), Hockenheimring (Germany), Hungaroring (Hungary), Circuit Paul Ricard (France), Red Bull Ring (Austria), and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Spain).
