From last week
On the Judgement Day
Questions will be asked
Hidden Truth will reveal
Final destiny of man
Will witness the seal
Oh Lord! Help me
To eradicate the evil weeds
That grow wildly in my heart
And plant beautiful deeds
And solemnly harvest them
On the Qiyamaah Day
I sow seeds
Seeds rare
Water them every day
Protect them
With great care
I cannot force seeds to grow
I cannot force plants to bloom
Even if they blush with bloom
I cannot force to bear fruits
Even if they rush with crops
Who knows who would harvest
Maybe one who didn't invest
Oh Lord!
Thou decide our share
Thou art very fair
Some gets the silver, others the sand
But neither permanent in any hand
In my voyage - Oh Lord!
Let my Intellect advise me
On the strength of softness
My serenity reminds me
Of the secrets of silence
And calmness whisper to me
The wonders of patience
Oh Lord!
There is nothing Thou do not see
Save me from my hidden fears
Accept my pleading tears
One day I lit a candle
Saw its light conquer
Darkness in my room
Whole neighbourhood
Was washed in light
I looked at the sky
There was no moonlight
Not even a single star
A gentle breeze brought
A hushing drizzle
I raised my hands in Prayer
Let more light candles
And dark corners be lit
Let more clear darkness
Enjoy the rare happiness
Of the gradual awareness
Of the Guardian Lord's
Gentleness
An extract from the book " The Spring of Love and Mercy" a collection of religious poems by A.C.S. Hameed. In his introduction Mr. Hameed says he wrote these poems to demonstrate to the world the Spring of love and mercy Islam holds for humanity.
