Grace and poise from Oosha

BalletThe Oosha Garten of Ballet is Sri Lanka's best known dance school thanks to the efforts of its pioneering director and choreographer Oosha Saravanamuttu. Hailed as the Shirley Temple of Ceylon when she was just a slip of a girl at seven, Oosha went on to carve an enviable career in dance spanning some five decades.

Today it is her pupils who will take the stage when the Oosha Garten presents 'Une Soiree de Danse' on August 20, 21 and 22 at the Lionel Wendt theatre. The show which will combine both classical and modern dance will showcase the talents of some of Oosha's brightest young stars Romina Gyi, Rajan Thananayagam, Sureka Buell, Nadeera Rajapakse, Priyangi de Silva, Marise Kern and Rasitha Jinasena.
