Right of replyOrzone: from a mountain springIn response to our article titled 'Did You Say Pure?' on August 22, 1999, we received a letter from Upul Senerath, Managing Director of Watercor Mineral Water Co. (Pvt) Ltd., who said his company underwent a great loss as a result. He attached two reports of chemical and biological examination of water samples, dated 24.08.99 and 02.09.99, tested at the regional laboratory of the National Water Supply & Drainage Board at Bandarawela, after our article was published, which show that his product has a nil count of coliform and E. coli bacteria. We give below Upul Senerath's comments: "Water is a vital necessity for mankind. Drinking water accounts for a major portion of this necessity. Owing to the risk of multifarious environmental pollution and the shortcomings of common methods of purification, the significance of natural mineral drinking water is widely emphasized among the people. Our organization is objectively committed to supply the natural mineral drinking water, hygienically bottled and packed for the purpose of human consumption. The Sri Lanka standards we comply with in the relevant process have been a firm guidance in meeting the requirements of the consumer in the safest manner. The source of water is located in an area not touched by human population and industrialization. The site was selected after a scientific geographic survey of the earth. Consequent to such site selection, this natural mineral drinking water, which is already naturally filtered through three layers of soil running 40 feet deep from the surface and then deposited 80 feet beneath the granite rock, adjoining the bottom of the above soil layers, is extracted in its pure natural state without subjecting to any chemical process. We have been successful in supplying such pure water to you in the brand name called ORZONE. Natural Mineral Water Orzone is bottled at its source, a mountain spring near Namununukula Mountain above sea level 6671 feet range in Hali-Ela, Sri Lanka. The water has been tested for its perfect quality at the laboratories run by institutes such as the Ceylon Institute of Scientific Industrial Research (CISIR), National Water Supply and Drainage Board, and Tech Waters (Pvt) Ltd. Such quality checks are regularly performed at the point of bottling/packing operated by Orzone". |
